I’d been ogling this poppy field off the highway for a long time now and often wondered when the day would come that I get to use it. So when my co-worker asked me to shoot her daughter’s senior portraits, I knew this was the perfect spot. Interestingly enough, it also happens to be my first formal “graduation” session. We didn’t head for the poppies immediately though… We started off in my botanical-esque backyard as the light was still harsh and then transitioned into the field as it softened. Jessi was so accommodating and willing to prance around in the fields as I snapped away with dozens of cars flashing on by. But it’s these little efforts that count and produces the most beautiful results.
