Glencairn Garden in Rock Hill, SC is one of my go-tos for photo locations. Having shot here plenty of times now, it’s essential for me to make every shoot feel new. Over the years of shooting, I’ve learned that one of the best (and easiest) ways to do that is by shooting at different times of the day. The depth and quality of light looks surprisingly different early in the mornings versus the evenings just before sunset – which is typically when I like to shoot. These family photos took place shortly after the sun came out and I love how the sun illuminated my subjects. Notice how soft but vivid the highlights in the hair and complexions are – and how there’s just enough shadows to create the kind of contrast that piques interest. Even though the setting appears brightly lit, it’s not too overwhelming.
Cheers to another successful session and let this also be a reminder that it’s never too early or too late for family photos or couples session. You can see more of my Glencain Garden photo sessions here, here, and here.
